Chief Ethanol, located in Hastings and Lexington, NE, announced the hiring of Ted Free as General Manager. In this role, Free will manage the brand’s overall plant operations.

Free brings significant experience in operations, safety requirements and product knowledge to his position with Chief Ethanol. He received a Bachelor’s degree from University of Arkansas and was previously the General Manager of Bridgeport Ethanol for the past fourteen years. Under the leadership of Free, his previous organization was recognized as one of the safest and most efficient ethanol plants in the United States. From 2015 through 2020, Free was elected by his peers as President of the Association of Nebraska Ethanol Producers (ANEEP), which is now known as Renewable Fuels Nebraska (RFN).
